Argenta Gap War Cemetery

Ben curato anche in dicembre. Purtroppo ad inizio viale la catenella era chiusa. Ho dovuto parcheggiare probabilmente in proprietà privata ed intralciando. Forse un po' troppo fuori mano anche se ben indicato.
Impressionante, forse anche per scelta, che non vi siano fotografie o ritratti. Sembrano "numeri".

Posto ottimamente tenuto e curato, peccato, anche in futuro, non aggiungere un percorso dedicato con foto e storia del tempo che fu

Un perfetto esempio di come mantenere vivo il ricordo.

Molto toccante, tanti ragazzi giovanissimi che han perso la vita troppo presto

We visited the war cemetery to see my husband's great uncle's grave. He was killed 2 weeks before the end of the second world war.
It was an emotional journey for him.
We walked from Argenta station, which took us approx 1 hour. The walk is all on flat ground but it is a fair way when the sun is shining.
The cemetery as we expected is pristine, so well tended and looked after by the CWG Gardner John, he took over from his father who tended the gardens from 1966-1995, he then took over.
There are fragrant roses and other flowers that have been planted with great care. It is a place to contemplate what our soldiers did so we can live a free life.
When we left,my husband went to thank John for looking after the gardens so well, when he found out we were walking back to the station he kindly offered us a lift.

Visited November 2019 to pay respects to my husbands grandfather. Very well kept and looked after, we met the gardener too..thank you for doing a great job. We had a private driver take us from Bologna about an hour away. So happy to have visited.

Amazing privilege to stand and pay my respects at the graveside of one of my old units greatest hero’s....
Amazing cemetery and impeccably maintained.
